Frequently Asked Questions

mouseSome of the more frequently asked questions are highlighted below. Please feel free to email us directly with any questions you have.

rule
How far in advance should I post my plans?
We suggest you post your plans when you decide to take a charter flight. The more time you give the matching process to occur, the better chance you have for success. There is no restriction on how far in advance of your travel date you can post your plan.
rule
What can I do to increase my chances of getting a match?
The more flexible your itinerary, the better your chances of a match. You can best increase your chances of getting a match by having flexibility in your travel date. Also, being flexible in terms of preferred airports and preferred time of departure is helpful.
rule
How long does it take to get a match?
There is no standard length of time. The more popular routes will have the most activity and matching. When posting a new itinerary or joining an existing itinerary, you will be able to set a date that is your deadline for having a confirmed flight.
rule
Can I schedule a roundtrip charter flight even though my travel dates have an extended time period between them?
You can create a round trip by posting two separate one-way itineraries, one for your outbound flight and the other for your return flight. Because the two flights are independent events, Budget Jet Charter doesn't link the two charter flights.
rule
Will others see my name or other personal information when I search, post or join an existing itinerary?
No. The activity on our website is totally anonymous to all users. For charter flight brokers, operators and travel agents utilizing the network, you can post numerous itineraries under your user account which represent trips for various customers. In those situations, the personal information of the ultimate passenger is not even known to Budget Jet Charters.
rule
How will I know when someone has joined a charter flight that I have posted?
In your My Cockpit user section, you will see a little aircraft icon next to any itineraries that have been matched by the system. Additionally, you will be contacted by email and phone by a Budget Jet Charters Charter Flight Administrator to confirm the match and continue with the flight booking process.
rule
When I post an itinerary or join an itinerary, am I committed to those charter flights?
No. You are not committed to the itinerary until a full match occurs, the itinerary and actual cost are satisfactory, and all travel parties associated with the match have paid. You may cancel your plans at anytime prior to the flight being "confirmed/booked".
How do I pay for my portion of the flight?
After a match occurs, and the flight itinerary and the actual cost are finalized and acceptable to all parties, you will pay your broker, operator or travel agent directly for your portion of the flight, including the Budget Jet Charters match fee (which is a % of the total cost of the charter). Budget Jet Charters will then collect the match fee from the broker/operator or travel agent.
rule
What happens if I confirm and pay for a match but then need to cancel?
At this time, Budget Jet Charters does not provide any level of cancellation insurance (that is a feature that is forthcoming). If you must cancel after a full match has been confirmed/booked and paid for, you will forfeit the entire cost of the flight unless Budget Jet Charters is able to find an alternative match upon re-posting the itinerary. If an alternative match is found, you will be reimbursed for the cost of the charter flight.
rule
What happens if one of the other matched parties cancels their portion of the flight after everything has been confirmed, booked and paid for?
This won't affect you. Your charter flight is confirmed and will depart according to schedule.
